About Dexter Cattle
Dexters are one of the world’s oldest heritage cattle breeds, originating in the hills of Ireland. Compact and hardy, they were bred to be truly dual-purpose — providing both richly flavored beef and a family-sized milk supply. Their smaller frame means they put more of their energy into quality instead of sheer size.
On our green pastures, Dexter cattle shine. They’re excellent foragers that thrive on grass alone, even in changing seasons. That ability to turn diverse pasture into dense nutrition is why Dexter beef is known for its fine marbling, deep beefy flavor, and tenderness — even though our animals are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished.

On the Pasture
100% Grass-Fed & Grass-Finished — Our cattle never receive grain, corn, or soy. Ever. They eat grasses and forages, just as ruminants are designed to do.
No GMO Feed or Inputs — We avoid GMO seeds, feeds, and chemical shortcuts so the beef you take home starts with clean ground and honest forage.
Regeneratively Raised — We use rotational grazing to let pastures rest and regrow, building topsoil, helping to lock carbon into the ground, and welcoming back birds, insects, and wildlife.

Why It Matters
Healthy beef starts with healthy soil. When pastures are managed well, plants grow deeper roots, cycling minerals and sunlight into dense nutrition. Cattle that graze those pastures produce beef that is naturally higher in omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K compared to grain-fed beef. At the same time, truly grass-fed beef tends to have lower levels of certain polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs) that increase when animals are finished on grain.
